Better, stronger, faster!
The SRAM CODE RSC is an impeccable combination of power, modulation and consistency introduced in the SRAM Guide brake series, which was developed for trail and enduro applications, has made converts of some of the world’s best downhill racers. But there is an increasing need for more power and more control, as the definition of "possible" continues to change. The all-new Code brake is purpose built for high-performance, heavy-duty applications. Based on Guide architecture, Code’s fluid reservoir and pistons are bigger. The Code is designed to deliver massive power, predictable modulation and incredible heat management for braking control on the longest descents and under the burliest loads.
The Code RSC features reach and contact point adjustment as well as Swinglink to reduce deadband.
Technologies
Bleeding Edge -Â New bleed porting and fluid path make it easier to push fluid through the caliper for quick and easy bleeding; dedicated bleed adapter for the S4 caliper plugs into the bleed port and seals the system to minimize air contamination and fluid loss.
Expandable Bladder -Â SRAMs new lever design contains a new bladder, wich regulates and deminishes bubbles. It is shaped to drain air from the lever and transport the fluid exactly to where it is needed. As a result, an enhanced counter-pressure discharge is reached to grant reliable and constant braking performance.
Heat Shield - The stainless steel heat shield breaks the thermal connection between the pad and caliper body, reducing caliper fluid temperature by about 20°C even in the most extreme testing conditions.
Compatibility with MatchMaker and MMX -Â With Matchmaker you save weight and space at the handlebar. Matchmaker takes Avid-brakelevers, SRAM-triggers and various RockShox controls in form of a light and tidy clamp - this way the dream of space-savers worldwide came true. The system is available in two versions: Matchmaker X gives room for RockShox Xloc and is compatible with XX- and XO brakes. The conventional Matchmaker works with any split clamp and RockShox PushLoc system.
PiggyBack Reservoir -Â SRAMs current lever design is directed towards maximum performance and easy handling. The piggy-back design offers an easy and safe solution to control braking fluid and enables mounting on either side. You can swap levers to ride your bike moto-style.
Timing Port Closure -Â The timing port of a hydraulic brake connects the reservoir with the main actuating cylinder. While pressing the lever, a cup seal passes the segment and locks the bore, which sets the system under pressure. SRAMs new TPC Plus system has resistive seals and an ultrasmooth cylinder surface for reliable and constant braking performance.
Swinglink - Squeeze a SRAM brake lever and you notice it immediately. Less deadband. More positive pad engagement. A new cam system requires less lever throw to push the pads toward the rotor. That’s great, but there’s more to perfect braking performance than just power. You need control. Many brake systems minimize deadband —but at the cost of modulation. SwingLink solves that with its special cam shape. When the pads contact the rotor, power is modulated, avoiding that "on/off" brake feel. It’s the perfect balance of power and precision.
Contact Point Adjustment -Â Some people like the instantaneous power of a short lever throw. Others prefer the feel of a longer throw. With Contact Point Adjust, you can pick the position you want your fingers to be in when your brakes are engaged. It is a quick and easy way to customize the feel of your brakes without having to move the pads. It is also a way to balance both brake levers to feel exactly the same.
Lever Pivot Bearings -Â Precision sealed bearings at the lever pivot enhance the clean, crisp lever actuation and consistent, light, onefinger feel.
