The S5 has one job—get to the line before everyone else. Under the likes of Wout van Aert, Marianne Vos, and Christophe LaPorte, it's a tool without equal, and it's the bike the riders reach for everywhere but the big mountains. With these elite riders perched atop S5's iconic V-stem, the yellow fork has been a constant sight at the front of this season's biggest races.
In the new 2023 S5 with Ultegra Di2 12 Speed, Cervélo has worked on the stem-handlebar combination. This should allow for a flatter transition between the handlebar and brake lever. In addition, the handlebar can now be freely tilted between 0 and 5 degrees. If you look at the bike from the front, you’ll also notice a slimmer head tube and more tire clearance. The Cervélo S5 offers space for tires up to 700x34C and then has 4 mm space left on the left and right.
Overall, you have to put the new and the old model of the S5 directly next to each other to see the visual differences. More obvious differences, however, are hidden and should significantly improve the handling of the bike – especially during assembly and service
